Central Furniture wins Best Furniture Product of the Year Award

A Ghanaian manufacturing company based in Accra, Central Furniture Works has been honored for the second time running at the just ended second edition of the Ghana –Made Awards 2014, emerging as the Wood Furniture Product of the Year, courtesy the Dual Hybrid School Desk.

The Awards ceremony celebrated the success made by some local and multinational companies in the small and medium scale industries and the awards are meant to motivate these industries to meet the challenges of the domestic and international market.

In an interview with the managing proprietor of Central Furniture Works, Alhaji Mustapha Mahama, said, his company was committed to empowering the youth through apprenticeship and internship to reduce the rate of unemployment in the country.

“Management and staff, as well as our valued and cherished customers are delighted at this recognition through the award,” he said.

He however revealed that close to 2000 young Ghanaians have established various furniture companies as a result of their training at Central Furniture Works.

According to ALHAJI Mahama, all MMDA’s should direct their attention to procuring locally manufactured wood and furniture as a way of developing the local industry.

Central Furniture Work was established in 1971 as a sole proprietorship, it started with the manufacturing of furniture for the domestic market.

Currently the company has evolved to become one of the most important manufacturers of all types of furniture in finished and knocked down form for both the local and international markets.
