Chief Executive Officer for IT Support & Outsourcing firm LIRANZ, Mr. Nicholas Bortey has won the award for the Technology and Innovation Entrepreneur of the Year at the 8th Ghana Entrepreneur and Corporate Executives Awards 2018.

Mr. Nicholas Bortey, though a young entrepreneur, has over the years developed a world class IT business solutions that has enhance business operations and optimized performance. Through his wealth of experience at the top managerial level of several high-profile companies in the country, he is steadily changing the face of IT service delivery in the Ghana.

His practical approach to solving complex organizational challenges using IT has broken several barriers in the Information Technology sector in Ghana. Over the past few years, through hard work and his commitment to excellence, he has been able together with his team at Liranz developed strong relationships with clients in various sectors including Oil and Gas, Financial Services, Legal Services, Logistics & transportation, Healthcare, Non-Governmental Agencies, Real Estate, Agriculture, Education, startups etc.

Mr. Nicholas Bortey took home this year’s award based on his innovative IT business solutions as well as his relentless efforts to deliver world class IT services to the company’s cherished customers.

“My motivation was quite simple and was clear from the start. The basic mission was to evolve the traditional break-fix IT business into a professional IT support and Managed Services in Ghana and in the West African sub-region”. He stated.



Over the past few years Mr. Bortey has won several awards including; Young ICT Entrepreneur of The Year 2017 by Ghana Information Technology and Telecommunication Awards (GITTA), 40 under forty awards (Technology & Innovation Category) and also led his Liranz team to win the hotly contested IT Consulting Firm of the Year by GITTA in that same year. He has also assisted Dr. Anwar from the University of Oxford with research into IT and BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) space in Ghana.

The young Chief Executive officer is currently the most sought after speaker inspiring and mentoring the youth of this country to achieve greater heights and to challenge the status quo.

The Ghana entrepreneur and Corporate executives award is an annual award ceremony organized by Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana to recognize distinguished entrepreneurs in Ghana. The foundation was conceived from the growing need for Ghanaian and foreign entrepreneurs to network create business environment and take sustainable actions to propel Ghanaian businesses to greater heights. This year’s ceremony was held on 28th April 2018 at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel.
