Business Focus putting US$25m in Ghana zone

The Business Focus group is investing US$25mil in the BF-Tema Export Processing Zone in Ghana.

Business Focus chairman Datuk Amin Shah Omar Shah said the group, which is represented by its wholly-owned subsidiary Business Focus Ghana Ltd, had resumed the project which was briefly held back due to some political changes in that country.

"The new ruling party supports foreign investment, which includes our project. So there's no problem at all,'' Amin said.

He said the project, which include the construction and sale of factory buildings at the export processing zone (EPZ), was progressing well.

"We are conducting roadshows with various embassies (to promote the EPZ)'' he said.

Amin was speaking to reporters after PSC Marine Technology Academy signed an alliance agreement with the University of New South Wales, Scientific Management Associates and Australian Maritime College in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

He said the strategic alliance with the Australian partners was part of an effort to provide the domestic maritime and defence technology industry a world-class marine technology and business management training programme.
