Business Advisory Centre presents start-up kits to clients

Mr Richard Mongson, Birim Central Municipal Head of the Business Advisory Centre of the National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI) has presented business development start-up kits to registered clients in Akim Oda in the Eastern Region.

The start-up kits, which included palm oil production kits, gari production kits, baking kits and soap making kits were presented to the beneficiaries through the Rural Enterprise Programme (REP).

He explained that, the criteria for selecting the beneficiaries were registered clients who were proactive and in need of equipment.

The beneficiaries included Asomdwee Palm Oil Extraction Group at Asomdwee, Oda Nkwanta suburb, Biakoye Cassava Processing Corporative Society Limited at Otaipro and three individuals, including, Gladys Amoaniwaa from Oda Nkwanta received a soap making kits, Cynthia Eshun from Akim Oda received baking kits and Beatrice Effah received soap making kits.

Ms Victoria Adu, the Birim Central Municipal Chief Executive during the presentation, advised the beneficiaries to use the equipment judiciously.

The REP is part of the government’s effort to improve the livelihoods of people in remote areas of the country.
