Budget out this week

The Minister of Finance, Mr Yaw Osafo-Maafo is expected to present the financial and economic policy of the government for 2003 to Parliament this week.

The exact day for the presentation would be announced tomorrow, Papa Owusu-Ankomah, Majority Leader and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, announced to the House when he presented the Business Statement for the sixth week ending Friday, February 28, 2003.

He said during the week, the Ministers of Lands and Forestry and Local Government and Rural Development would appear before the House to answer two urgent questions.

Papa Owusu-Ankomah said the debate on the President’s State of the Nation Address would continue while major motions such as the agreement between the government and the Standard Chartered Bank, London for an amount of 10.7 million dollars to finance additional works for Korle Lagoon Ecological Restoration Project (KLERP) would be taken.
