Broll Ghana's property management expertise recognised by peers

Broll Ghana, part of the CBRE Affiliate Network, has won the Commercial Property
Management award category at the fifth annual Ghana Property Awards, an industry
ceremony organised under the auspices of the Ghana Real Estate Developers
Association (GREDA).
The last decade has seen significant strides in the real estate sector of the
Ghanaian economy. Such is the interest in the sector, according to GREDA's website,
that new entrants continue to register as corporate members on a regular basis.
Growth in the sector reflects the increasing importance that Ghanaians place on
shelter as a requirement for good quality life. To further consolidate the gains of
the sector and emphasise the credentials of the industry, there was a felt need to
institute an award platform that will recognise excellence and spur industry players
on to achieve the same.
Moses Luri, marketing and leasing manager for Broll Ghana, says the award is
recognition from its peers and customers of the company's effort and hard work in
the property industry.
"This is the third award won by Broll Ghana and the second time we have won this
category," Luri says.
The awards are judged by a committee made up of industry players who vote for the
winner after a select few have been shortlisted.
"The Ghana property scene is growing steadily after recent investments by Actis
(through Laurus), Westport Rmb and Kingdom Hotel Investment (KHI)," says Luri. "In
the five years since the company was registered here in Ghana, the Broll team has
consistently endeavoured to introduce and maintain professional services that are
satisfactory to clients. The Broll Ghana team deserves to be commended for their
hard work."

About the Ghana Property Awards
The concept of the Ghana Property Awards was initiated by Ghanaian Robert
Attah-Wegbe while undertaking a research project on "Consumer Behaviour Towards
Property Purchase in Ghana and Africa" at the Thames Valley University, London, in
2000. Under the close supervision of his lecturer, Steve Johnson, who was then the
head of marketing and research department at the university, Atta-Wegbe took the
project further and studied into greater detail property issues and allied problems
in Ghana and Africa. The research continued further in 2003, culminating in the
establishment of The Property Express Magazine, an intellectual property owned by
Attah-Wegbe and family. Atta-Wegbe went on to develop a website and TV programme
(Property Issues on OBE SKY TV) to interact with consumers, especially Ghanaians in
the diaspora. The feedback from consumers was overwhelming. A majority of the
respondents called for the infusion of sanity into the property industry. To address
the situation, there was the felt need for an innovative solution into the African
Market, especially as pertains in Ghana. It is in this regard that Ghana Property
Awards Limited, an NGO, was born. The awards, which involves all the stakeholders in
the industry in Ghana recognises innovative solutions to challenges in property
development in Ghana. http://ghanapropertyawards.com (free registration required)
