Bourse static in slow post-holiday session

The Ghana Stock Exchange closed unchanged on Tuesday in a lethargic session, with prices static across the board in the first session after a long holiday, the bourse report showed.

The index remained at 897.65, or 4.62 percent up since the start of the year, with only six stocks trading out of 22 listed, and no price changes.

Total turnover stood at 31.779 million cedis ($4,274) against 65.6 million cedis in the previous session last Wednesday. March's average was around 80.71 million cedis.

SSB Bank was the most active stock with 6,000 shares traded at 900 cedis per share, while Home Finance , which goes ex-dividend on April 18, did not trade.

The exchange, which normally trades on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, opened especially on Tuesday after market holidays on Friday and Monday.
