Board chairman calls for appreciable working conditions

Sunyani, Feb. 2, GNA - Nana Takyi Abeam II, Chairman of Sunyani Municipal Hospital Advisory Board, on Wednesday called for appreciable working conditions and end of service benefits for management and staff to sustain their interest working at the hospital. In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani, Nana Taky= i Abeam, who is Gyantuahene of Sunyani Traditional Area, said the contributions of health workers in quality health care delivery could not b= e over-emphasized. He commended management and staff for their hard, committed and dedicated services and gave the assurance that the advisory board would continue to reward deserving staff.

Nana Takyi Abeam said in-spite of the numerous challenges that faced the hospital, management and staff had continued to work to the expectation of the people. He expressed concern about the poor wiring system that resulted in intermittent fire outbreaks at the hospital and appealed to the Ghana Healt= h Service to re-wire the facility to forestall future mishaps.

Nana Takyi Abeam said since its establishment 50 years ago, the hospital had not seen any massive rehabilitation and that attendance at the Out-Patients Department had increased, necessitating expansion of the wards= .. He said the roads and pavements at the hospital needed to be re-gravelled and appealed to management and staff of the hospital to promot= e sound and cordial relationship with clients.
