The Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese of the Anglican Church, Rt. Rev. Francis Benjamin Quashie has appealed to government to come out with a stimulus financial package to support distressed industries in the country.

He said this would enable them to recover and create employment for the youth, as government implements the one district one factory initiative.

This was in a New Year message of the Bishop in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Koforidua on Monday.

Bishop Quashie advised government to set up a strong team to lead the country in all negotiations with the its development partners as the country prepares for the Ghana beyond aid policy.

He called on political leaders in the country to demonstrate strong commitment to the national good if they are to get the support of the ordinary citizens of the country.

Bishop Quashie commended the government for the implementation of the free Senior High School programme and appealed to managers of schools to ensure its success.
