Some loyal customers and patrons of leading online sports betting firm, Betway were on Friday rewarded with laptops, phones, refrigerators and televisions as part of the company’s second-anniversary celebrations.

The betting company, two years since it began operations in the country has made tremendous strides in the gaming sector, becoming the preferred choice for people who love to engage in betting and Friday’s event was to celebrate every individual with an attachment to the Betway brand for their unflinching support.

With good music blazing loud and drinks and food available in plenitude, patrons were entertained greatly with performances from AI and Lil Shaker capping off a night of absolute joy and delight.

Speaking to journalists on the sideline of the celebrations, the Country Manager in charge of Marketing at Betway Ghana, Kwabena Oppong Nkrumah described their two years in Ghana as an ‘interesting experience’ which will only get better in years to come.

“It's been an interesting experience over the last few years and we brought something different to sports betting. Which was moving it from over the counter to online sports betting which is cashless and operating solely on mobile money. We have seen how others have also started migrating to that platform,” Nkrumah said.

He reaffirmed his company’s resolve to adhere to the rules governing gaming in the country and also continue to fulfil their pledge of improving sports in the country which has already manifested in their sponsorship of four premier league clubs, the Betway Talent Search and Betway Community Basketball.

"We have done a lot with our talent search, monthly donations, seminars for Ghana Premier League clubs and a lot of community engagements. We believe all sports betting firms must do more for the communities they operate in Ghana, he concluded.

Betway has for the past two years undertaken various social responsibility projects aimed at improving the lives of people. The projects include donations to the Princess Marie Louise Hospital, the Tanoso Health Clinic, free health screening among others.

The Betway Thought Leadership Seminar is an annual event that creates an avenue for key players in the Ghanaian sports industry to share best practices and experiences
