Batik Makers Form Association

Manufacturers of batik and tie and dye, have been advised to strive to improve the quality of their products to meet international standards.

Madam Mariamme Holst, Project Co-ordinator of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), who gave the advise, also urged them to acquire knowledge in record keeping and other business practices to enhance their work.

She was inaugurating a seven-member executive of the Wassa West District branch of Batik, Tie and Dye Manufacturers Association, at Tarkwa.

"It is better for you to produce quality materials that will be accepted on the international market than to engage in petty rivalry," she told them.
