Mr Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, Minister of Petroleum, has said the Bulk Oil Storage and Transport (BOST) would build a girls’ dormitory for the local Senior High School at Buipe in the Central Gonja District in the Northern Region.

This, he said, formed part of the Corperate Social Responsibility of the company for the people of Biuipe, as the community is a host to one of BOST depots.

Mr Buah said this on Tuesday when he paid a courtesy call on the overlord of Buipe, Buipewura Jinapor II, during an inspection tour of BOST facilities in the community.

The Minister pledged to personally build a toilet facility for the community towards the development of Buipe.

He noted that BOST had gone through a lot of challenges in recent times, but once they had been resolved, the company would not relent in discharging its responsibilities to the community and the people of Buipe.

Buipewura Jinapor II appealed to BOST to find a new parking space for their tankers, as the place the company uses now was not safe enough for the community and its inhabitants.

He noted that some of the tankers which came to park at the area was not only too close to the inhabitants, but some also came to park, loaded with fuel which could cause fire.

He said the situation had caused a lot of agitation among the youth in the community, and appealed to BOST to find a new parking space which should be far from the habitation of the people.

Mr Buah directed the management of BOST to find a new parking space within one month for the tankers.

Some elders of the Buipe also complained that since the depot was established in the community 15 years ago, the company had not contributed much towards the socio-economic development of the community.

Among the Minister's entourage were Mr Kingley Awuah, Managing Director of BOST and Mr Kakra Essamuah, Board Chairman of BOST.
