Asanka Local to introduce fufu pounding machine next month

Accra, April 26, GNA - Asanka Local, a traditional catering centre specializing in Ghanaian and continental dishes is to introduce fufu pounding machine next month to enhance their services. Mr Henry Nii Addy, Chief Executive of the Centre, who disclosed this in an interview with Ghana News Agency on Monday, said currently the centre served Nigerian dishes and would soon add other dishes. He said the centre's focus was to provide nutritious and affordable local Ghanaian dishes.

Mr Addy said the company, established barely a decade ago, had won seven awards including the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) Indigenous Catering Facility of the year, 2008.

He said the company had opened three branches in Osu, Madina and New Jersey, USA, and that plans were far advanced to extend their operations by opening more branches worldwide.

The Chief Executive said the company, apart from specializing in Ghanaian and continental foods, also provides artefacts, handicrafts, artworks and quality trendy and exclusive African wear and fabrics. "At Asanka, we aspire to be a wholly Ghanaian owned conglomerate, providing quality and affordable products and services that bring maximum satisfaction to our patrons both in Ghana and around the world in a friendly and comfortable environment," he said.

Mr Addy advised other operators in the industry to prepare their foods in a hygienic environment to boost tourist attraction and also honour their tax obligations.

This, he said, would enable the government to engage in more infrastructural development. 26 April 10
