Apex bank poised to lead in development

Nyinahin (Ash), Aug. 27, GNA- The ARB Apex Bank is determined to develop innovative products that will enable customers to increase their incomes.

Mr Kwadwo Kusi, Head of finance and Accounts of the Apex Bank, said with the drop in interest rates, the bank would further lead the rural Banks to diversify their income streams.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Nyinahin in Ashanti on Tuesday, he said the bank has started with clearing and printing magnetic ink character recognition chequebooks for customers of rural community banks.

Mr Kusi said with support from Rural Financial Services, the Apex Bank would upgrade five centres into branch offices in Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi, Sunyani and Bolgatanga over the next two years. He said the branches would be equipped with bullion vans to deliver cash to the rural community banks at their doorsteps to avoid armed robbers.

Mr Kusi said apex would give adequate and appropriate training in information technology to all staff of rural banks to facilitate their operations and activities.
