Another ECOBANK gain sustains stock index

Accra, Nov. 8, GNA 96 Another respectable gain by blue chip Ecobank Ghana on Wednesday sustained the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) index despite losses by CAL and Ecobank International.

The GSE All-Share Index was 1.3 points better at 4,984.64 points from 4,983.34 points on Tuesday while change for the year also continued its upward march at 4.52 per cent from 4.50 per cent. Ecobank Ghana gained 100 cedis at 13,000 cedis while CAL lost 50 cedis at 1,750 cedis and Ecobank Transnational also went down by one cedi at 22,706 cedis.

Total shares traded picked up slightly at 52,900 from 28,000 shares and market capitalisation also jumped to 112,159.01 billion cedis from 112,151.35 billion cedis on Tuesday.
