Andani gets new Barclays appointment

Accra, June 7, GNA - Mr Alhassan Andani, Deputy Managing Director of Barclays Bank of Ghana, has been appointed Director of Extended Countries Coverage at the African Regional Head Office, in Johannesburg, South Africa.

A statement from the Bank's Press Office in Accra on Tuesday said his appointment takes effect from June 17 2005. Mr Andani is expected to deplore his in-depth experience to strengthen Barclays Africa's corporate banking operations, particularly in countries where the Bank does not have a physical presence. The statement said Mr Andani while at Barclays Ghana, significantly built the Bank's corporate banking portfolio and a strong corporate team.

Born 44 years ago, Mr Andani has been with Barclays for the past five years and has had extensive experience in the banking industry over the past 20 years.

A Chartered Banker by profession, he holds a BSc. in Agriculture and an MBA in Finance and Banking.
