Amissah-Arthur promises cocoa farmers better price

The Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has ended his four-day tour of the Central Region with his “Touching base campaign” with an assurance to cocoa farmers that government would continue to give them better price for their Cocoa.

He interacted with Cocoa farmers at Morkwaa Ahenkro, addressed a mini rally at Twifu Anyinase and a durbar with the Ewe Community at Atti Bimponegya all in Hon Samuel Ato Amoah's Twifu/Atti/Morkwaa constituency.

He also addressed a rally at Wawase, then interacted with Cocoa farmers at Bodi and ended with a Durbar of Chiefs and people of Mfoum all in Hon Foster Joseph Andoh's Hemang Lower Denkyira Constituency.

He said government has their welfare at heart and would continue to rehabilitate the cocoa roads to facilitate the transportation of cocoa in the Cocoa growing areas to the market.

Vice President Amissah-Arthur further stated that the NDC government would also continue to expand and distribute free cocoa seeding, fertilizers and the spraying of Cocoa farms to help improve Cocoa yields. And that the Cocoa Scholarship by the Ghana Cocoa Board is ongoing and would bet. improved for so that Cocoa farmers whose children has not benefited would benefit.

He said in line with this government has increased the cocoa price from 420 to 470 to help the farmers.

Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur appealed to them to avoid the ‘skirt and blouse’ pattern of voting come November when Ghana goes to the polls so the need to vote for Hon Foster Joseph Andoh's Hemang Lower Denkyira Constituency for continuity.

He went on to state that if you vote for a president from one side and an MP from another side who cannot even go to the Flagstaff House. As for this year, you should vote for someone who can boldly walk to the Flagstaff House and deliberate on matters of your development with the president. That is what will bring much more development to this area than you are currently witnessing.

He maintained that it is prudent to vote for an MP who will have the ears of the President and could visit the Presidency to push for development of his people.

The Vice President Amissah –Arthur said as one of the stronghold of the NDC in the region she should increase their votes so that NDC can win massively and convincingly.

Adding that there is the need for them to put the past behind and move on. He lauded the people of the area for voting for the NDC over the years. He said continuity is Key so the need to vote for President John Mahama for continuity in development to go on.

He has appealed to Ghanaians to vote for President John Dramani Mahama to continue with the good work he is doing for the country.

He described ‘as exceptional’ the level of infrastructure development realised under the Mahama Administration.

Mr Amissah-Arthur also said a vote for President Mahama on December 7, would be a vote for progress and development.

He, therefore, asked Ghanaians to have confidence in the Mahama led-administration because he was not a divisive person as he had demonstrated throughout the period that he had been at the helm of affairs.

He said President John Mahama would continue to share the national care equally to all communities no matter where they were located.
