Akoti Rural bank made excellent performance in 2006

Assin Akonfudi (C/R), Nov. 25, GNA - The Akoti Rural Bank at Assin Akropong made a profit of 850.25 million cedis in 2006 against 383.75 million cedis in 2005. The chairman of the Board of Director of the Bank, Mr. B. K. Addie, said this at the 23rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the bank at Assin Akonfudi near Assin Foso on Saturday.

He said the bank's total asset increased from 15.01 billion cedis in 2005 to 23.02 billion cedis in 2006 while its total deposit rose from 12.50 billion in 2005 to 14,71 billion cedis in the year under review. The bank's share capital moved from 335.04 million cedis in 2005 to 515.55 million cedis in the year under review. Mr, Addie said the bank gave GH=A21,102 cedis as loans and overdraft to some customers in 2006 while a total of GH=A21,500 has been given to some students as scholarship and bursary to enable them undertake their education at the tertiary level.

Mr. Osam Doudu, Deputy Managing Director of the ARB Apex Bank, commended the bank for its good performance and urged it to maintain that record.

Mr. Felix Annor, General manager of the bank recounted various efforts being made to improve operations and added that the mobile banking, which was introduced by the bank recently, was yielding good results.
