Airtel Money tipped to boost banking services

Airtel has unveiled a unique and exciting promotion on its mobile money platform dabbed: “Mr Money 5-5” unto the Ghanaian market to reward customers for making transactions via Airtel Money.

The improved Airtel money service is tipped to provide millions of people with access to banking services in Ghana with the potential to transform banking in Africa.

Mr Mrinal Roy, Chief Operating Officer, Airtel Ghana said at a media launch of the exclusive mobile money promo that one of the company’s pillars is innovation which birthed m-commerce to increase access to financial services and reduce poverty.

He observed that since the introduction of Airtel Money into the market customers have enjoyed the safety and convenience of e-commerce transactions on the platform while the company kept on introducing innovative products and services to meet their demands.

“We are giving customers who transact on our platform using Airtel Money free 100 minutes talk time to call other Airtel numbers from 5am to 5pm, valid for three days,” said Mr Luck Ochieng, M-Commerce Director at Airtel Ghana.

Mr Roy explained that apart from the already existing services on the Airtel Money platform, the company has added on an international money transfer service dimension through which customers can receive money directly from friends and relatives around the globe.

Airtel Money service allow customers to pay utility bills; pay for goods and services; make direct payment for savings and loans contributions; buy airtime for other people; purchase Airtel data bundle; send money from ones Airtel Money account to other Airtel money customers; Send money to and withdraw money from your bank account among other services.
