Airtel Ghana rewards customers in the third “Airtel Friendzy”

Accra, Jan. 14, GNA - UDAT2012, a customer group of 15 members in the ongoing Airtel end-of-year promotion dubbed: “Airtel Friendzy” on Saturday won GH¢10,000 in the third weekly draw of the promotion in Tema.

The promotion, which run throughout December last year and ends on February 29, was to encourage customers to top up their credits to stand a chance to celebrate the holiday season in style.

The third draw saw Nine other groups receiving GH¢ 2,500 each with 22 group members and individuals winning Samsung Galaxy Tab and Samsung phones.

The groups included Mekad1, rover12, ENERGY, group, Flight26, KSQ3, railways, Mac28 and Majeed9.

Mr Donald Gwira, Head of Corporate Communication and External Affairs in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) said the total number of groups participating in the promotion had increased to 8,000 and more than 50,000 individuals.

“With the unending excitement spreading across the country, we expect a lot more groups and individuals to join in the promotion,” he added.

He said the event would allow customers to win various prizes as they recharge their credit and use data services, noting that there are weekly cash prizes and merchandises to be won.

Mr Gwira said the grand prize would be GH¢50,000 for winners in a group with the highest accumulated points at the end of the promotion.

He said the 10-week promotion would give Airtel an opportunity to engage with its customers and not only appreciate customer loyalty to the network, but also celebrate the holiday season together.

He explained that the main idea behind the promotion was to strengthen the social bonds between friends and families across the nation during the end of year festivities because the Ghanaian society thrives on communal living.

Mr Kingsley Bennet, Senior Marketing Manager of Airtel said the procedure of joining the promotion was simple.

He urged customers who want to participate in the promotion to ensure that their group names were alphanumeric to avoid duplication.

Mr Bennett noted that the company together with its partners was committed to making the competition grand in terms of prizes for its highly valued customers.

He expressed the hope that the promotion would empower those who participated by enabling them to win cash to appreciate their love ones.

Some customers, who spoke with the GNA after the draw, expressed gratitude to the organisers for the promotion and encouraged other users of the network to participate and win wonderful prizes.
