Agro-industry to be established at Ejura

Ejura (Ash), April 24, GNA - An agro-industry that will produce weanimix will soon be established at Ejura under the President's Special Initiative (PSI), Madam Elizabeth Owusu, District Chief Executive for Ejura-Sekyedumase, has said.

She said land for the project had been prepared for the project to take off.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Ejura on Thursday, Madam Owusu said the assembly was waiting for a business proposal from the office of the PSI to hold an investment forum for interested investors to buy shares in the company.

She said Ejura-Sekyedumase district had been selected for the project in view of its track record as a major maize producer in the country and therefore urged farmers in the area to double their maize yields to feed the factory when it is built to ensure its continuous operations.

Madam Owusu noted that the government had kept faith with the people and therefore asked the electorate to reciprocate this gesture by voting the NPP back into power in the December polls. "The government has created a new nation in which we all first identify ourselves as Ghanaians and then party or ethnic affiliations second where necessary".

She held that the government had helped to promote industrial peace "through better orientation, better educational system, better system of on the job training and harmonious industrial relations and through improved workers conditions consistent with the nation's resources."
