Agambire calls for partnership between African leaders and Entrepreneurs

Mr Roland Agambire, Chief Executive Officer of rlg Communications Company Limited has appealed to African leaders to lend support to Africa's budding Entrepreneurs to create job opportunities for the youth of the continent.

“The practice of alienating some African Entrepreneurs in the event of a change of government should become a thing of the past to create mutual benefits for the government and private sector”, he said.

Mr Agambire made this appeal when he spoke to Journalists on his exploits in the communications industry at the sidelines of the Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation launch at Grosvenor House, Marriot Hotel in Central London on Friday.

The programme, was also attended by President John Dramani Mahama of Ghana, President GoodLuck Jonathan of Nigeria, President Yayi Boni of Benin and President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia, as well as the Business community within Africa and Europe.

The aim of the Foundation is to eliminate non-communicable diseases, reduce the unemployment rate on the African continent, promote girl-child education and ensure nutrition and food security in Africa.

Mr Agambire said the practice where some African leaders had interfered in the operations of private entrepreneurship had negatively affected business and stifled the initiatives of some Entrepreneurs, and therefore called for a partnership that could be beneficial to the governments and the private sector.

“African governments are playing their roles meaningfully, but they can only achieve economically and developmentally if they fully embrace private entrepreneurs as worthy partners to fight poverty, hunger and deprivation,” the CEO added.

He said the European and Asian economies had over the years expanded as a result of effective relationship between the private and public sectors and called on African leaders to walk the talk to raise the level of developmental on the continent in the coming years.

The rlg CEO commended Former President Olusegun Obasanjo for the initiative and called on other former African leaders to introduce such foundations to whip up the enthusiasm of their citizens to embrace development projects.

Mr Agambire gave the assurance that his outfit would continue to be the pathfinder in electronics and communications in Ghana and beyond, and called for all hands to be on deck to achieve their goals in the coming years.

“All we need from the African leaders is commitment and policy support and the sky will be our limit in the coming years,” he indicated.
