African Business Media to hold Economic Outlook Confab

Africa Business Media, publishers of the 'Ghana Business & Finance' magazine in partnership with the Ministry of Trade and Industry is organizing the second edition of the Ghana Economic Outlook and Business Strategy Conference, under the theme: strategies to attract foreign direct investment into the country.

The business conference is as a result of reports in the media indicating that Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs) legally registered in the country for the first nine months of 2013 have declined in value.

According to figures from Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC), total FDI component recorded US$3,242.72 million, representing a decrease of 25.97% over US$4.38 billion recorded for the same period in 2012.

For the first nine months of 2013,144 projects were recorded by the Center compared with 102 projects recorded in 2012.

Against this backdrop of a decline in value, there is the need for stakeholders in the nation’s development to re-engage and to proffer further strategies to avert any further declines.

The event is slated on January 28, 2013 at the Best Western Premier Hotel, Accra. Registration for the conference is still open, and attendance is by strict invitation.

The event will be supported by Export Development and Agricultural Investment Fund (EDAIF) and Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC).
