Accra bourse rises on Ecobank Transnational gain

Accra, Sept. 19, GNA - The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) rose again on Tuesday on the strength of a healthy gain by newly listed Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) although volumes that change hands were weak.

The GSE All-Share Index, the main bench mark, rose by 6.99 points at 4,953.52 points from 4,946.53 points.

On the broader market there were five price changes, all positive. ETI gained 50 cedis at 22,650, ECOBANK (Ghana) made three cedis at 12,003 cedis, Enterprise Insurance Company was three cedis better at 8,421 cedis, Fan Milk Limited was also stronger by three cedis at 16,158 cedis and newly listed TOTAL, after its merger with Mobil Oil Ghana Limited, inched up by one cedi at 54,001 cedis. The last price of Mobil Oil was 54,000 cedis.

Only 47,700 shares changed hands while market capitalisation 111,440.38 billion cedis.
