Accra bourse index makes modest gains

Accra, Oct.3, GNA - The GSE-All Share Index, the benchmark index of the Ghana Stock Exchange, rallied 10.30 points during Friday's trading session to close 2,655.20 points compared to 2,644.90 points at the previous close. Total shares traded, however, declined marginally at 912,000 compared to the 1.2 million shares on Wednesday. Change in the year to date is fixed at 90.30 per cent. In the broader market, there were seven positive price changes. The Trust Bank Limited (TBL) of the Gambia was up 100 cedis to close at 7,800 cedis, SSB Bank Limited went up four cedis at 10,105 cedis, Standard Chartered Bank gained nine cedis at 58,610 cedis and Patterson Zochonis was up 100 cedis at 2,500 cedis. Home Finance Company gained 10 cedis at 2,660 cedis, Guinness Ghana Limited went up 46 cedis at 4,150 cedis and Ghana Brewery Limited was richer by 40 cedis at 900 cedis. Market capitalization closed the week at 10,335.20 billion cedis from 10,309.18 billion.
