Accra bourse continues to climb, but volumes low

Accra, Aug. 29, GNA- The Accra bourse continued to climb in trading on Friday, but volumes remained low as big time investors again stayed away.

The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) All-Share Index rose by 11.39 points at 2,535.56 points in trading that saw 204,400 shares changing hands, down from from 869,500 last Wednesday.

There were six price changes, all positive. Unilever and Produce Buying Company gained 50 cedis each at 8,700 cedis and 900 cedis respectively, Guinness Ghana Limited was up 11 cedis at 3,622 cedis, Camelot appreciated by 10 cedis at 500 cedis SSB Bank was three cedis better at 7,813 and Briish American Tobacco inched up by one cedi at 2,061 cedis

The change for the year to date reached 81.72 per cent while market capitalisation closed up at 9,992.62 billion cedis from 9,963.85 billion cedis.
