Accra bourse continues impressive run

Accra, April 9, GNA - The Ghana Stock Exchange opened higher on Wednesday with the GSE All-Share Index, the benchmark indicator of performance of the bourse, gaining 28.41 points. The Index rallied to close 8,434.20 points up from 8,405.79 points on Tuesday.

Change for the year to date now stands at 27.80 per cent. Active trading saw traded volumes increase to 530,100 shares from 300,300 shares with CAL Bank selling 261,700 shares. On the broader market there were six price changes, five positive and one negative.

Benso Oil Palm Plantation (BOPP) continued its impressive run with another 0.01 GH cedi gain to close at 0.59 GH cedis, Ecobank Ghana Limited was up 0.02 GH cedi to close at 2.70 GH cedis, Enterprise Insurance Company went up by 0.01 GH cedi at 1.81 GH cedis, Guinness Ghana Brewery Limited was up 0.04 GH cedis at 1.55 GH cedis and Unilever Ghana Limited was up 0.17 GH cedi at 2.40 GH cedis.

The only equity that lost at the session was CAL Bank, which went down by 0.02 GH cedis to close at 0.53 GH cedis. Market capitalisation closed the trading session up at 14,326.92 million cedis compared to 14,309.02 million GH cedis on Tuesday.
