Accra bourse closes higher

Accra, April 16, GNA - The Accra bourse continued to climb higher on Friday ending trading 68.86 points higher at 6,201.62 points. Change for the year also rose to 74.73 per cent from Wednesday's close of 72.59 per cent.

Ten equities made gains and there was no loser in trading that saw 493,700 shares changing hands, down from Wednesday's 1,093,200 shares. Market capitalisation was also better at 19,359.33 billion cedis. Financial equities led the way with SSB Bank gaining 974 cedis to 29,000 cedis, Ghana Commercial Bank rising by 500 cedis at 17,000 cedis and Home Finance Company appreciating by 96 cedis at 9,500 cedis.

Mechanical Lloyd was 200 cedis better at 2,700 cedis, British American Tobacco gained 30 cedis at 7,380 cedis, Unilever was up by six cedis at 19,506 cedis, The Trust Bank of Gambia inched up by one cedi at 20,001, Mobil Oil Ghana Limited rose by 50 cedis at 37,550 cedis, Guinness Ghana Limited made five cedis at 9,365 cedis and Cocoa Products Company gained two cedis at 1,455 cedis.
