Accra Bourse in marginal gain

Accra, Aug. 9, GNA - Patterson Zochonis (PZ) led a strong price rally on the Accra bourse on Wednesday with the GSE All-Share Index, the benchmark index, going up by 1.4 points.

The Index ended the mid-week trading at 4,874.18 points from 4,872.78 points registered on Tuesday.

Change for the year to date now stands at 2.21 per cent. There were five price changes, all gains.

PZ led the price surge with a 90-cedi gain closing at 6,600 cedis; Guinness Ghana Brewery Limited was up nine cedis at 9,225 cedis and Enterprise Insurance went up one cedi at 8,138 cedis. Other gainers were ECOBANK Ghana Limited, which continued its surge by gaining one cedi at 11,761 cedis and Aluworks Limited going up by one cedi at 6,802 cedis.

Total shares traded fell to 71,100 shares down from 247,200 shares at the previous close.

Market capitalisation was 96,899.19 billion cedis from 96,894.96 billion cedis (corrected figure for Tuesday's trading).
