Accra Bourse Index makes marginal gain

Accra, July 19, GNA - The GSE-Composite Index (GSE-CI), the benchmark measure of performance of the Ghana Stock Exchange, inched up for the second session in a row, adding 0.76 points to close at 1,177.34 points from 1,176.58 points.

The gain puts the year-to-date at 17.73 per cent.

The GSE-Financial Stocks Index (GSE-FSI), which tracks the performance of listed financial stocks, also went up marginally by 0.32 points to 1,134.14 points from 1,133.82 points with corresponding year-to-date change of 13.41 per cent.

There were five price changes - four positive and a loser.

Total gained GH¢0.07 to GH¢20.07, Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited went up GH¢0.01 to GH¢1.46, Enterprise Group Limited was up GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.48 and CAL Bank gained GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.28.

On the flip side, Ghana Commercial Bank shed GH¢0.01 to GH¢2.97.

Market Capitalisation was up marginally at GH¢20,335.10 million cedis from GH¢20,331.37 million.

Traded volumes were 147,871 shares, valued at GH¢90,156.39.
