ARCB to create data bank for members

Gomoa-Dawurampong (C/R), Aug. 10 GNA - The Association of Rural and Community Banks is to create Data Collection Bank to assist its members. It is also planning to establish a monthly newspaper to publicise events happening in areas of jurisdiction of member-banks. Mrs Rose Newman, National Vice-Chairperson of the Association told a shareholders' meeting of Akyempim Rural Bank at Gomoa-Dawurampong that the move was part of the measures to strengthen operations of rural and community banks.

Mrs Newman said the National Executives of the Association considered the creation of the Data Bank as very important in that materials that would be gathered from the member-banks would engender effective assessment of their work.

It would help in detecting areas where directors and managements of rural and community banks should be given advice and directions at the right time to save them from going bankrupt.

Mrs Newman also believed that the creation of the proposed Data Bank would offer greater support to the ARB APEX BANK in its determination to make the rural banking system the real economic propeller to accelerate rural development.

She asked members of the Association to feed the national leaders of the association with the needed materials for the early take-off of the Data Bank and the newspaper.
