AMG supports Manhyia Palace with 50 bags of fertilizers to start farming

As part of supporting the Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu II to celebrate his 20th Anniversary on the Golden Stool, Agricultural Manufacturing Ghana (AMG) has supported Chiefs and the people in Ashanti Region with fertilizers.

"We are partnering Manhyia Palace with fifty (50) bags of fertilizers to ensure farming in the region becomes attributive to the chiefs and people", Mr. Henry Otoo-Mensah, the General Manager of AMG disclosed to this reporter during the celebration of the reverend King in Kumasi.

According to the AMG General Manager, discussions are underway with the Agricultural Ministry to also reduce prices of NPK and UREA fertilizers following several complaints from various Farmers' Association in the country.

"As we continue to give support to the government's flagship program Planting for Food and Jobs, we are taken such a decision to make it more fruitful", Mr. Henry Otoo-Mensah added in the interview.

There was a rich display of culture in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi as the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II celebrates the ‘Akwasidaekese’ as part of his 20th anniversary on the golden stool.

Major roads and principal streets within the metropolis have been blocked to traffic as local and foreign dignitaries attended the occasion at the Manhyia Palace with heavy security.

There was drumming and dancing amidst firing of musketeers as sub-chiefs in the Asante Kingdom are arriving with their subjects to the event grounds.

The King, in all his royalty and elegance, will ride in a palanquin from the Palace to Dwabrem amidst the firing of muskets.

President Akufo-Addo and the three living former Presidents, Jerry John Rawlings, John Agyekum Kufuor and John Dramani Mahama graced the occasion.
