Guinness Ghana Brewery Limited has successfully relaunched the ABC Golden Lager beer after it was taken off the Ghanaian market years ago.
Speaking at the relaunch which took place at Mantse Agbona in James Town Saturday, the Marketing Manager Innovation at Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited, Koffi Allaglo disclosed that the decision to bring back the ABC Golden Lager was in line with requests by key stakeholders in the company to bring back the beer.
“Consumers have asked for it. We spoke to consumers, colleagues, distributors and business partners. Consistently that same question came back, why are we not bringing back the legend? Why are we not bringing back the ABC Golden Lager that they cherish so much? And we did just that,” he explained.
According to Koffi Allaglo, it is the current trend to reinvent old brands, thus the relaunch of ABC Golden Lager Beer.
“Nowadays, you see young people going back into the past, bringing back the best of Ghana. We see that trend in fashion, in the way people dress. We just go and pick the best of Ghana from the past and it is on that same trend, we’ve seen people ask for something legendary, something from the past that can make a difference,” he added.
The ABC Golden Lager beer had been off the Ghanaian market for a while due to the decline in customer patronage. The beer was relaunched on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Mantse Agbona park.
