55 firms bid for Tema Port

55 companies are bidding for the construction of the new container terminal for the Tema Port.

The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority is hoping to increase its revenue as it accommodates more vessels with the terminal.

11 companies have so far been shortlisted.

Acting Head of Business Management for the Tema Port, Alice Torkornu tells XYZ BUSINESS the expansion of the port will prevent some losses made by the GPHA.

Meanwhile two companies in Kumasi have been fined 1,200 Ghana Cedis each for failing to secure fire certificates.

The companies are the Ghana Life Company and the Ghana Hostels Company.
