20 Asante-Akim South communities to get power

Twenty (20) communities in the Asante-Akim South District are to be connected to the national power grid, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr. De-graft Forkuo, has announced.

The beneficiaries include Apragya, Mensakrom, Kwakrukrom, Asempaneye, Yaw-Barima, Adofokrom, Menamenaso, Kyempo and Kpone-Praso.

The others are Tokwai, Kokobeng, Bankame, Sunkwa, Dickson, Abronsanase, Asuboi, Asuogya and Danyameso.

The project has been awarded to Chinese contractors, China Water, and the project is expected to be completed in four months.

Already, high tension poles had been erected and the contractors are now busily setting the low tension poles.

Mr. Forkuo on Tuesday inspected the project and expressed satisfaction with the progress made.

He expressed optimism that its successful completion would help open up the area and create business opportunities.

He urged the contractors to ensure that they worked within the timelines to avoid any delay.
