10th GPA awards open nominations

Accra, Sept. 21, GNA – The Planning Committee of Global Professional Achievers (GPA) Awards has announced the official opening of nominations of the 10th GPA awards to be held on December 18.

According to the committee, any professional, organisation or business that had achieved excellence on its field as well as contributing significantly to society any form can be nominated.

The awards night seeks to honour 24 distinguished persons in law, architecture, sports, health, banking and finance and fashion and beauty.

Others are communication and media, agriculture, marketing, insurance, entertainment and business and special awards for humanitarian and social care, innovation, dedication and excellence, GPA business class, corporate champion and lifetime achievement.

The awards dubbed: “10 years of Celebrating Icons of Innovation", is aimed at inspiring young professionals to develop a mindset of becoming globally viable.

GPA has introduced four new categories to encourage participation of young people in Ghana.

The categories include Young Professional, Young Entrepreneur, Young creative Star award and GPA Business class to target young people with start-ups.

Two Special Awards including GPA International award would be awarded to Ghanaian not residing in the country and a GPA African Diaspora Excellence award to an individual who has significantly contributed to the positive image of Africa.

The closing date for nomination is October 31, 2011.

The GPA awards since its inception has offered a platform not only for rewarding and promoting the cream of business and professional community but also has been significant in promoting international trade through networking between professionals, business and high profile decision makers both in Ghana and United Kingdom.
