Rozaay Management, a Canadian-based sports and entertainment firm on Saturday held a basketball clinic for some selected basketball players from Kumasi and Accra.

The clinic brought together talented players from Kumasi and Accra for a day of instruction and personal interaction with some experts of the game.

The event which happened on the basketball court of the International Central Gospel Church at Abossey Okai in Accra presented the students with an opportunity to broaden their knowledge about the game.

The Founder and CEO of Rozaay Management, Randy Osei explained that the initiative forms part of his resolve to promote the game in Ghana and inspire the Ghanaian youth.

“I took up this project because I want to make an impact in the country. I started a charity project in Toronto where I gave back to Toronto through a lot of free clinics and donations. Toronto also gave me a lot of shoes and books and I’m here with them. We have organized three basketball clinics and been to three orphanages to make donations”, he said.

Randy also disclosed that the potential exists for the country to produce top-notch basketball players and called on the government to take an interest in the game.

“There’s talent in this country, just that they don’t have the funding and resources to develop these kids. I would like to tell the government that they are missing out on a lot of money by not investing in the sport. If you invest in your own, your own will give back to you. I have seen good players who can make it to the top with support, he added.

The obviously excited students expressed gratitude to Rozaay Management with a promise to put into use the knowledge they have acquired.

The organisation also gave the students pairs of sneakers.
