Defending Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship winner University of Ghana (UG) has landed in Group A of the national competition in this year’s edition.

UG has been drawn in the same group with Takoradi Technical University (TTU), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and Ghana Technology University College (GTUC).

Unlike rival Accra Technical University (ATU) who have to deal with teams yet to play in the semifinals of the competition, UG has its hands full with a couple of them in Group A.

KNUST and TTU have been largely consistent in the final four of Ghana’s most celebrated tertiary basketball competition.

KNUST has featured in the semifinals three out of the previous four editions with TTU doing so on two occasions in the tournament.

GTUC is a novice at this stage of the Championship after failing to qualify from the preliminary stage in previous years until this year.

UG has won the past two UPAC editions in 2016 and 2017 and will host the national games from April 12-14.
