Woes Of Kwaadee

The gospel scene at the tertiary level has since time immemorial been an essential factor which contributes to the growth and quality of gospel groups and artistes in the mainstream industry.

The likes of Joyful Way Incorporated, Commissioned Family, Black Heritage, One Accord, Nii Okai, Ike Nanor and Danny Nettey are perfect examples that attest to this fact.

Having the same aim of imparting positively into the lives of everyone especially students, and helping in the growth of the gospel scene, the Voices of Redemption (VOR) of the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT),Tarkwa, is employing its annual music festival(VORAFEST) by collaborating with other groups from other sister universities and some already established ones to firm this vision.

This year?s festival coincides with VOR?s 10th Anniversary and is under the theme, ?Demonstrating the Power of God through Faith.? It is a 3-day Music festival which commences on the 6th and ends on the 8th of October.

The celebration takes the form of drama, choreography and Christian literature on day one, praise and worship festival on the second day and lastly, word ministration and thanksgiving service on the third day. All events take place in the University.

The groups billed for festival include Gospel Explosion (KNUST), Echoes of Calvary (UCC), Mass Theatre (UMaT), Mass Choir, Commissioned Family, Mirkarj Choreographers, Sterling and Drizzle, Pastor Jonathan, etc. Speaking to the Chairman of the Planning committee, Mr. Enoch Agyepong, he said, ? this year?s festival is certainly a must attend one because aside fellowshipping together and interacting with one another, one should expect to be blessed.?
