Why Is Obrafour Not A Winner?

Obrafour It begun like a tale in the Ghanaian music industry in 1999. Ghanaians were introduced to a new kind of lyricist in the person of Mike Elliot Kwabena Asiamah aka Obrafour and an instrumentalist in the person of Edward Osei aka Hammer.

Obrafour?s verbal prowess and delivery had all talking about him and some people taught it was a flash in a pan. Hammer also got himself into the sound engineering fraternity which hitherto had been dominated by Zapp Mallet of TLC studios and a few others.

Obrafour and Hammer got music lovers dancing and critics silenced. They broke all existing records in the hiplife industry and an up-to-date song like ?Kwame Nkrumah?, ?Yaa Nom?, ?Konkonsani?, ?Pae Mu Ka? still receive patronage and is with no doubt that insiders in the music industry attest to the fact that the 'Pae Me Ka album' is the most outstanding hiplife album in the country.

On his second album, ?Asemsebe?, Obrafour showed exemplary class that 1st  Class Entertainment crew headed by Ernest Addae bought an outright cassette right of ? 120 million an industry record deal up to date. Songs like ?Enye Nyame a?, ?Brabe Hwe?, ?Okukuseku?, ?Odo?, ?Who Born You By Mistakes? are still reigns in our hearts and charts.

Successes of many albums and artistes can be attributed to the key role played by Obrafour; you want names, Tic Tac on the ?Philomena? album, KGPM, Yaw Larbito, Daasebre Dwamena (Kokooko remix).

His role in highlighting artistes such as Tinny, Dogo, Kwaw Kese, Okra, Baza, K.K. Fosu, Dr. Poh, Okyeame Kojo Kumi, Mensah, CY Lover can never be downplayed.

So with all this, why has Obrafour not been rewarded according to his efforts in the Hiplife industry during the Ghana Music Awards; Over to you Charter House!
