Why I'm The Ladies Man - Batman Explains

Emmanuel Samini, known in showbiz as Batman, has explained why Ghanaian ladies associate themselves so much with him.

According to him, even though his maiden 'solo' release, 'Linda' actually catapulted him into stardom, he believes, his latest album, which he titled 'Samini' is that which has brought the ladies closer to him.

Speaking in an interview with Yaw Seky on his programme on TV Africa, last Thursday, Batman Samini said ladies want to be loved and cared for, but it seems guys of today have not observed that and have rather treated them on the other way round.

He was answering a question from the host of the programme as to why people refer to him as ladies man, saying that, why is it that where ever Batman goes ladies come around.

And so when the ladies realized that he has identified what they wanted and went further to compile their feeling and expressed that onto a musical piece on his 'Samini' album, they began to like him for that.

As to why the singer decided to add Samini to his showbiz name, he explained that after he had shot up to the top, he realized that the name Batman sounds too foreign and his efforts to sound more local, he decided to add Samini, his surname, which means 'Rains god' and says he is happy with that name.

Batman Samini, who has been nominated alongside, Tony Tetuila and two others for the Best African artiste for the MOBO Awards said he hopes to make Ghana proud with his brand of music.

He called on all music fans to vote for him win the MOBO Best Africa Artiste award so he can fly the Ghana flag high.

He also appealed to the government to factor the welfare of local musicians in the country into its policy framework to help promote music in the country, saying it is musicians who play music for everyone in the country including the top men to enjoy both during parties and all other programmes.

According to him, it looks as if musicians have been neglected by the government because the building which houses the offices of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) is in such a state that lives much to be desired.
