GEDA Fun Games to come of on Saturday

Accra, March 7, GNA - The Ga East District Assembly's Independence Fun Games would come off on Saturday, March 10 at the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission's (GAEC) Park at Kwabenya near Madina, Accra.

Mr Peter Nimo, Coordinating Director of the Assembly who announced this in Accra on Tuesday, said the one-day games of soccer, Ampe, Tug-of-War, Draught, Playing Cards and Sack Race forms part of activities marking the celebrations of Ghana's 50th Independence celebrations.

He said some of the teams would take part in the games include the Ghana Hairdressers Association, Ghana Tailors and Dressmakers Association, a number of Youth Associations as well as governmental and non-governmental organizations.

Professor Victoria Appiah, Deputy Director-General of GAEC would lead the Women's Soccer team of the Atomic Energy Commission while Mrs Elizabeth Amoako Enimil, Ga East District Director of Education will captain the educational team.

Mr Kofi Allotey, Ga East District Chief Executive would be the Special Guest of Honour. The Games will begin at 0700 hours
