'The Souly Bird' is out with a new single titled 'Panther'

Today, May 3rd, 2024, marks the release of the first solo single named 'Panther' by budding artiste, 'The Souly Bird'.

She is a German lawyer and singer who has been living and working in Ghana for almost three years.

After producing her debut album 'SHOWTIME' with the Ivorian / Ghanaian artiste Crazy Keys in 2023, she is now exploring her solo projects with different Ghanaian collaborators.

Her first Solo Song was produced two years ago by Enoch Owuraku Kissi, one of the best jazz guitarists in the country.

It got its final inspirational touch and post-production sparkle from Jonas Bibi Hammond, a German-Ghanaian singer, and producer.

Also, well-known producer Abochi, mixed and mastered this song.

The lyrics relate to one of the most famous classical German poems of Rainer Maria Rilke (1875-1926).

The English translation of the lyrics is important to understand the deep connection between the artiste and this poem.

The Souly Bird thrives to dig deep into hidden feelings that shape our minds in different colours every day.

The choice of this first song to mark her debut as a solo artist reflects on her admiration of the power of melancholy and the undeniable drama that lies in being deprived of our freedom.

Panther

His eyes have got so weary of the bars
going by, they can’t grasp anything else.
He feels like there’s a thousand bars,
a thousand bars and no world beyond.

The soft tread of his strong, supple stride
turns him in ever tighter circles,
like the dance of force about a centre in which a great will stands, stunned.

But now and then, the curtains over his eyes
quietly lift… and an image enters,
goes through his tense and silent limbs…
and dies out in his heart.

In Ghana she found the right collaborators, vibes and rhythms to create this authentic masterpiece.
