The Man Behind The Goodies Music Empire

In Showbiz, he's known as Goodies. I see him as a man who has changed the face of the music industry. Isaac Abeidoo Aidoo popularly known as Goodies was born in Accra to Mr. John Kingsley Aidoo and Mrs. Grace Nketia in 1976 and had his elementary education at Harvard College.

He owns the Goodies Music empire that comprises Goodies Music Production and Goodies Music Foundation. Goodies entered into the music industry after a certain group called 'Abibifuor' in 1999 who wanted him to produce their album had approached him. Goodies at hat time didn't want to go into music production thus he told them to bring the budget so that he pays for the cost and they do the promotion. In that same year, another bunch of gospel artistes approached him for help.

However, his meteoric rise to fame started with Lord Kenya in 2000 after he agreed to produce his album titled 'Yesom Sika'. To his amazement, this album won many awards and he sold about 150,000 copies. Moved by the patronage of the album, he went on to produce VIP'S album 'Lumbe Lumbe' in 2001. It turned out to be the other way round due to the fact that it was too hiphop. The acceptance wasn't impressive.

In 2002, Tic Tac was signed on his label and Tic Tac's 'Menka Biom' album really made a mark in the industry as he won the Best Video Clip award and the Best Collaboration award and this raised the self-esteem of Goodies Music Production. 'Abuskeleke' by the sensational artiste Sidney which was released in that same year was more than successful as over 200,000 copies were sold. That album dominated the charts in Ghana and Liberia for months.

In 2003, it was a comeback for VIP as he produced their album titled 'Ahomka Womu' which won most of the awards in Ghana and dominated the local charts for months. For the sales, you should not expect something less than 200,000 copies.

Goodies again produced Tic Tac's album 'Wope' in 2004 that has gone international. What next? Let's wait for him as he maintains his foothold in the hiplife market, discovering and nurturing new talents.

The famous producer who has been to Holland for a show which was put together by the Ghana Olympic Committee, London, Nigeria when Tic Tac performed with American superstar 50 Cent, South Africa for Kora Music Awards and Liberia for a UN Peace Concert is married with three children and is set to produce VIP and Sidney come next year.

His last words were "I want to reach the international market and also all artistes should come together as one since music is to unite and not to set us apart.
