Terry Bonchaka's New Album In Limbo

The new Terry Bonchaka album has still not been released owing to the reluctance of executive producers in purchasing either the cassette or CD franchise. Sources say most executive producers claim the music market is not as vibrant as it used to be.Most executive producers have become over-cautious about buying album rights due to recent piracy upsurge in the country.

Terry Adjetey, a.k.a Terry Bonchaka, the unique Ghanaian artiste who swung into posthumous glory barely three years ago has a fantastic new album ready for the market containing songs he recorded before his untimely death.

The album mostly recorded at the Zapp Mallet studios also had a touch of Nana King?s genius. Azar Girl, Elizabeth, Menewobewu, abofra bone, long ago and bronya are some of the songs on the album.

The late Terry Bonchaka will forever be remembered as the live wire of almost every event he attended. He is always a delight to watch perform live on stage with good friend King Ayisoba.

His idea of wearing African clothing all the time endeared him to a lot of people. It remains to be seen whether theTerry's mum will be approached by a willing buyer of the album rights or end up managing and distributing her late sons' album herself.

Terry Bonchaka died on October 31st, 2003 during a car accident on the Legon-Tetteh Quashie road under disquieting circumstances. Controversy surrounded his death not long after he was buried as musicians started accusing each other of a hand in it. The Ragga Dada and True son of Africa had been working on this outing long before death came knocking on his door.
