?Soja Tour? Rocks Bolga

Nana Quame In commemoration of its 70th anniversary celebration, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), in collaboration with NQ Records last Friday jointly organized a musical show at the Bolgatanga Catering Rest House.

Dubbed ?Soja Tour?, the show which was aimed at raising funds to support needy children in the society, featured artistes such as Nana Quame, Lucky Mensah, Dr. Poh, 4x4, Joe Frasier, Akasanoma, Logozor, Nana Antwi, Popa and Blackface.

Patrons who thronged the Bolgatanga Catering Rest House were subjected to long hours of waiting as the show, scheduled to start at 8pm, ended up commencing at 12 midnight without an apology from the organizers.

However, in spite of the late start of the show, and the initial technical hitch that rocked the public address system, the brilliant performances by the various artistes appeared to have compensated the audience.

The likes of 4x4 and Dr. Poh who did his hit song ?Na Who? thrilled the audience. Joe Frasier, who performed without his trademark eye-classes, got the crowd dancing and singing along with them, with Logozor mesmerizing the audience with his waist twisting movements as he took his turn to perform.

Lucky Mensah?s rendition of his hit songs ?Aduu Sumo Akwaadu? and ?Nnorgbo charged? the entire atmosphere as patrons trooped onto the dancing floor.

Then came the man with the silky voice, Nana Quame who crowned the evening with a spectacular performance, dropping hit after hit from both his old and new albums, including the latest ?Soja? to the dancing pleasure of the crowd.

In a brief message, the upper East Regional Director of the GBC, Mr. Adam Cockra said from a humble beginning in 1935, the station has grown to become a leading broadcasting station in Ghana.

He gave the assurance that GBC would continue to build new programmes to inform, educate and entertain the public for the progress of the nation.
