Rev. Evangelist Diana Asamoah testifies

I have now know why it has become an annual ritual for the ubiquitous Rev. Evangelist Diana Asamoah has made it a habit to release her albums around by this time of the year, (Christmas), hence an ultimate expectation on the part of her wonderful fans and Christians a like could not wait to hear from their idol as far as gospel is concern.

It doesn’t take long for one to come to terms with the moral potential in Diana Asamoah who comes the way of her admirers with the soul-searching worship songs. Untruthfully, one of the instinctively born with music for this reason she has the flair for singing songs that can motivate and inspire but on this album, the gospel diva has decided to blend her style with the traditional indigenous gospel beat and rhythm. Mere, singing aside, Diana also displays certain characteristics and delicate intricacies of music, which props it up.

She proved how well she could sing in different level with classic progression while maintaining the effect of the techniques on a different analog. She has become epitome of inspiration to young up and coming musicians. So with this she has proved her versatility.

The accomplished musician has kept faith with her producer Mr. Anane Frimpong of Frimprince Music Production for the past six years or so has been consistent and loyal to the label probably that has kept her going and unflinching blessing she has been receiving from the creator.

As I said the album titled Madansi Diee, which happened to be her forth album, has varied attributes, which is rooted in the traditional Reggae style something unusual of the gospel songstress. She show off her rich strong voice together with her male backers and manage to give a strong effect to what ever message she may try to get across in the songs but she didn’t for get her roots of inspiring and soul searching worships.

The title track, Madansi Diee (My Testimony), which is rendered in a low reggae vein, is certain to thrill listeners in many aspects. In the song, Diana stated that she has a confirmation to make. She said she want to testify to the whole world about what God has done for her.

She narrated how her adversaries wanted to kill her only to be saved by unknown savior in an effort to escape on the edge of a valley. She was shocked by what had happened to her especially when the voice told her to go and sin no more. Basically this is one of the Biblical calls to mankind, which the singer used metamorphically to send her message across.

Hallelujah..eh, amen, wa wo Christo”, is another newest style of the Evangelist. It has very good highlife instrumentation with a well-rehearsed trumpet line. It is a low tempo one with a strong message of motivation and reminds us of the birth of Christ. The message is simple and direct: Christ was born to save mankind and we must worship him with all our heart.

Then comes what Diana is well noted for, worship Me Na Maye, (I have done it). As usual it started with a short prayer with some element of guitar introduction. A slow but yet soul inspiring song. The lyrics are so touching that one cannot fail to listen to it attentively this is because they are things so practical of our everyday activities while assurances where necessary. “I am the one who have delivered you, believe that I have delivered you I am immortal not human being to deceive you and I am not going to betray you”

Ogye (Salvation) is another worship song on the album, which runs onto two other similar songs Esum Kaabi and remixed of Madansi Diee. It is very good for morning devotion and prayers. In this song Rev. Diana Asamoah charged Christians to never fall off in prayers to God because the battle is not over. She called on Christians to continue to pray and fight since the battle is not yet over.

She asked for God’s intervention and protection. “The sun should stand still because the devil will use darkness to cause havoc; fighting, wailing and sadness must be cast away” She pleaded. Other equally good tracks on the album are Mefri Makoma Mo, Bible and Abraham.

The vocal, mixing instrumentation are all impressively done on this album more especially her other side of singing. I think the Picalus Studio in Kumasi did well to blend her style to suit today’s dynamism in music. The album is being produced and distributed by Frimprince Music Production
