Papa Ajasco, Others For Ariya Nite

Papa Ajasco is perhaps the longest surviving and most popular Nigerian sitcom on Ghanaian television and since its introduction to Ghanaians somewhere in 1997, Papa Ajasco and his group's popularity has not dimmed and they show no sign of slowing down.

For the first time, courtesy of Vintage Visions, an events organization and promotions company, Papa Ajasco will be live on stage as part of a show dubbed "Ariya Nite" scheduled for Saturday at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel.

It is a show that promises excitement judging from the caliber of artistes billed to perform. High on the list is the King of Afro-juju music in Africa, Sir Shina Peters and his 20-piece band. His songs have rocked the African continent and beyond for the better part of three decades.

Also performing are Ghana 's own Obour whose Konkontibaa song is still rocking the airwaves, Tic Tac and VIP. Others are renowned Nigerian trumpeter Orlando Julius, Mapouka dancers from Cote d'Ivoire, African Michael Jackson and of course Papa Ajaso who will be making a special appearance.

Other attractions will be a raffle draw, comic performances and an exhibition of African arts and crafts.

According to the organizers, knowing to important role music plays in our lives, the show will offer a platform to address and educate people on the various social problems plaguing the continent chiefly among them being HIV/AIDS through music.

The show is also meant to be a cultural extravaganza, which will display and expose the rich and diversified culture of Africa to the audience and it will also offer an opportunity to the performing artistes to interact and showcase their musical prowess to a matured audience.
