Obrafour?s Final Legacy

After inscribing his name in the annals music in the country, Michael Elliot Kwabena Okyere Darko popularly known as Obrafour or better still Rap Sofo has finally announced that he would soon say goodbye to his cherished career, which is music.

He made the announcement on TV3 week when he appeared on the network?s weekly programme.

According to the Rap Sofo, he has planned to release two more albums, after which he would finally bow out of front stage music and take a place behind stage.

He disclosed that he wanted to develop into programming and engineering aspect of music from where he would be able to continue contributing his quota to the industry.

Looking into the future which such hope and confidence, the rap sofo intimated that he loved music and what he does as, far as music is concerned, but the time would soon come for him to take back stage.

However, Obrafour made it clear that before he does that he intends to leave behind a legacy, which would serve as a living example for all the up and coming hiplife artistes and even those who are yet to come abroad.

He explained that the legacy he wants to leave behind is that of clean lyrics, to show all and sundry that good lyrics also sell very well.

Of course, he has already proved that ever since he popped onto the music scene seven years ago with his debut album, ?Pae Mu Ka?.


His arrival on the scene marked the beginning of new dimensions to rap music in the local dialect; mixing humour with sensitive issues, lyrics that live with you, in terms of sorrow.

Obrafour, through the years, has maintained his stature as a story teller and realist. The fans also gave him all ears that he had expected, as he follow up was a hit single ?mama? which eventually made the older folks love him ? not because of his height but for the big brains that hung in-between his ears.

This thereby paved the way for him to demonstrate his undaunted musical skill, through ?Asem Sebe?, the album that could be described as library material for the history of hiplife. Obrafour unfolded the other side of him that wasn?t known to his fans; his singing talent. It even made lovers of hiplife, especially his fans, go wild and so was his label.
