Nana Gaisie Joins Gospel Train

The Gospel music scene is becoming bigger and bigger, with new artistes emerging everyday. The latest to hop onto the wagon is Ignatius Amenfi Gaisie or Nana Gaisie as he prefers to be called who has decided to put his God given talent to good use.

Nana has released his first album titled Ayeyi a collection of seven songs, which are presented in English and Twi and as the title suggests, Ayeyi is a mixture of praise and worship songs.

Su Fre No is perhaps the best song on the album, but interestingly it is not sang by the artiste himself but features a lady whose smooth voice makes the song a great one. A bit on the slow side, the drums and keyboard are most evident. She tells us to cry unto God in times of sickness, poverty and all other problems, as there is no name above God?s and nothing that is above God.

On Search Me, Nana takes the lyrics of a hymn. It is in the slow vein and most apt for worship with the keyboard playing a major role. He asks God to search his heart and know his thoughts and see if there is a wicked way in him and cleanse him from every sin and set him free.

Holy Ghost Medley strings a number of songs in the ?jama? vein. A highly danceable song it makes use of a lot of drums and keyboard with a touch of the trumpet. Meyi Wo Aye, is in the mid-tempo vein and makes extensive use of the drums and keyboard. Nana Gaisie says he will praise God for delivering him from the devil at all times and for protecting him.

M?abrabo, is also in the mid-tempo vein and also has traces of the drums and keyboard. He says that his life was a mess because he did what he pleased, and fought on his own when he had problems but after accepting God and leaving his problems in his care his life has become better. This song is one of the impressive songs on the album.

Nana Gaisie is part of a family of five boys and a girl. His father was a choirmaster of the Methodist Church and also played the clarinet and from whom Nana inherited his love for music.

A staunch methodist, the 33 year old Accountant of African Concrete Products, married to Annette Gaisie with two kids does not intend to pursue music full time but as a side show of his main job.
